Power Scheduling your player using ANM

Utilizing power scheduling using ANM is a powerful tool when managing a large population of digital signage players. This feature enables you to turn on and off players at specific times and reboot them automatically when needed. By using this tool, you can save energy, reduce hardware wear and tear, and ensure that your signage deployments run smoothly.

To set up power scheduling in ANM, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to ANM and select the player you’d like to schedule power settings for

2. From the above configuration window, select “Scheduled Actions” from the top menu ribbon. From here, you can see the list of current scheduled actions, reboot the player, or schedule new power actions.

3. From here, you can see the list of current scheduled actions, reboot the player, or schedule new power actions.

4. Using the select action drop down you will be presented with power on/off and reboot.  Select either of these and then choose how often you would like this action to occur.  Select “Schedule Action” to save your settings.  Once saved, you will see your action listed in the list of occurring actions at the bottom of the page.

Alternatively, you can also power schedule your players in batches.  This can be done from the main dashboard by selecting “Scheduleable actions” on the top Ribbon.  You will then be asked to select the number of players you wish to configure as a batch.

Once you have set up the power schedule, the player will automatically turn on or off at the specified time, and reboot if required. This feature is especially useful when managing large populations of players as it enables you to perform power actions without physically accessing each player. For instance, you can power down all the players in a specific location after business hours, or reboot all players at a specific time.
